This is probably the oldest serving pub in the area, having been protected during the many rebuilds of Warrington Golden Square. There is usually one real ale available, although not always in best condition.
The pub itself is full of atmosphere and one can easily be transported back three or four hundred years when it is i a quiet period. It is a favourite hangout for many age groups, but especially the "young crowd" of twenty-somethings who frequent the town centre.

The photo accompanying this does it no favours at all, as the pub is not featured; in fact, I am not sure it is even Warrington. The map most definitely isn't - it appears to be part of Canada!
Someone needs to check their database, I think.   04-07-14
